Seeds 2000

Seeds 2000 (Seeds) is a global provider of proprietary sunflower seed and sunflower genetics, as well as a targeted “distributor” of Seeds 2000 branded corn and soybeans throughout its high plains and upper Midwest customer base.  Internationally, Seeds is a leader in its sunflower market segments and provided some of the highest demanded sunflower hybrids and genetics in the world.  Seeds 2000’s products are sold globally, including in: the U.S., Canada, China, South America, and a number of European markets.

Exit Information:  As a result of the company’s niche products, strong genetic components, and international presence, the business was exited in November 2011 to Nuseed, a wholly owned subsidiary of Nufarm Limited [ASX:NUF].  The acquisition complemented Nuseed’s position in sunflowers and, in particular, Nuseed desired Seeds 2000’s strong confectionary sunflower business.
