Rural American Fund is a Chicago-based private equity firm with an innovative, niche strategy targeting the favorable dynamics of the agribusiness market. The firm focuses on making partnership investments in growing, lower middle-market operating businesses principally in agriculture or ag-related industries. The firm seeks partnership investments where solving problems and devising creative solutions enhance value for shareholders, management, and RAF limited partners.

The firm’s investment strategy focuses heavily on the “inputs” segment of the agricultural value chain where the partners see compelling opportunities to apply their experience and expertise to drive top-line growth and improve operating performance to deliver superior investment returns.

The firm does not invest in farmland, stand-alone real assets or agricultural commodities.

Leadership

Rural American Fund is led by three partners who bring 50+ years of private equity, corporate development, and middle market merger & acquisition experience to the firm while its ag-entrepreneur partners, all successful agri-businessmen, provide additional operational guidance. The team’s combined experiences enable RAF to have a deeper understanding of agribusiness fundamentals and industry sector trends which allow the firm to assist in enhancing the performance of the companies with which it partners.
